Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It lets us all gush about what soon-to-be released books we are jumping-up-and-down excited for.

Manor of Secrets
by Katherine Longshore

hitting shelves January 28th, 2014 from Scholastic

description: The year is 1911. And at The Manor, nothing is as it seems . . .

Lady Charlotte Edmonds: Beautiful, wealthy, and sheltered, Charlotte feels suffocated by the strictures of upper-crust society. She longs to see the world beyond The Manor, to seek out high adventure. And most of all, romance.

Janie Seward: Fiery, hardworking, and clever, Janie knows she can be more than just a kitchen maid. But she isn't sure she possesses the courage -- or the means -- to break free and follow her passions.

Both Charlotte and Janie are ready for change. As their paths overlap in the gilded hallways and dark corridors of The Manor, rules are broken and secrets are revealed. Secrets that will alter the course of their lives. . . forever.

My thoughts: I first heard about Manor of Secrets at Katherine Longshore's book signing and as soon as she said her next book was kind of a YA Downton Abbey, I was instantly excited for this one!

  2. I almost chose this as my WoW pick this week too. Even though I haven't read Gilt or Tarnish I have a feeling I'd like this author's books and I like the setting. I have high hopes that this will meet my need for a Downton fix :)
