Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It lets us all gush about what soon-to-be released books we are jumping-up-and-down excited for.

Hereafter
by Tara Hudson

releasing June 7th, 2011 by HarperTeen

description:
A stranded spirit, a sudden love...

Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she’s dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she’s trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.

Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that has held her captive for so long.

Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter will linger with fans of The Lovely Bones and those who enjoy paranormal romance and dark intrigue set in a very believable contemporary world.

My thoughts: HarperCollin's new Spring 2011 catalog has some gorgeous covers in it...and this happens to be one of my favorites. Plus, it's a ghost story---and I'm always up for one of those!

  6. Oh my goodness, that is an AMAZING cover! I live by a lake that looks just like that (as I imagine most lakes do) but seeing that chilling ghostly figure by it really creeped me out!
