New Shelf Goodies & The Weekly Nutshell {112}

For New Shelf Goodies, I'll be showing you what lovely books I acquired this week, whether from publishers, or the library, or from whatever half-crazed book-buying binge I happened to go on. :D (Inspired by Tynga's Stacking the Shelves) The Weekly Nutshell will be just that...my week here at Stories & Sweeties, in a nutshell. (inspired by Ginger @ GReads and her recaps at the end of the TGIF posts)

Here's my haul for last few weeks since I've done one of these posts! :)
For review:
(aka Penguin box of bookish heaven):
These five are pretty much one big squeeeeee! But I'm especially excited for The Wrath & The Dawn, this one is one of my most anticipated for 2015!
Anyone following this series that can recommend?
On the blog tour for this one in Feb so keep an eye out for that!
My daughter did a major happy dance when she saw this---I'm hoping to binge-read the series sometime soon!
Twisted Fate by Nancy Olson

Many lovely thanks to Penguin, Simon & Schuster, St. Martins, & HarperCollins for these!

The Weekly Nutshell
{Wednesday} Farewell 2014! Favorites of the Year
{Thursday} What's New: January YA Releases & Giveaway

Hope everyone had a fantastic New Year!!   Around here my son & hubby have been battling the wicked cold & cough, and I've been downing tons of Vitamin C to fend it off. Been working so far!  It is so cold, well, at least for this area so I had to buy myself one of these beauties. :) Faux, of course but soooo soft and warm. ;)  I love Restoration Hardware---my hubbie and kids bought me the coolest steampunk-y bluetooth speaker from there for Christmas and I love it! :D
So right now I'm still reading Monstrous.  I'm finding its not really a fast read---either that or I'm just really distracted with holidays and stuff. It's still really good, and I'm hoping to finish it this week. Next up is Storm Siren and then Save Me. Need to get back into the groove of reading after all the holiday flurry!
I saw Into the Woods this week, and loooooved it.  BUT  I will say, I can't vouch for if you aren't already a fan of the stage show.  It's been one of my favorites for years so seeing it brought to life on the screen was just amazing!  So fun and such great casting. LOVED. If you saw it and weren't already familiar with the show, I'd love to hear what you thought!

  2. The Sacret Lies of Minnow Bly & The Wrath & The Dawn are two books I'm very interested in. Both fairytale retellings if I'm correct. I need to catch up with Kathleen Peacock's series. I can't wait for Into the woods to release over here! (In February)

  10. OH MY GOSH THAT PENGUIN BOX! I'd be squeeing too!

That scarf looks so warm and I'm totally in love with that speaker! Everything I ever listened to would have to come out of it. :) YAY STORM SIREN!!! I'm dying to know what you think of it. Read faster!

I really liked Into the Woods! I hadn't seen the show before, but I am a big, big musical fan. My dad hated it. (But he didn't expect so much singing and I suspect he's just not a Sondheim guy. He hated Sweeney Todd, too.)
