Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It lets us all gush about what soon-to-be released books we are jumping-up-and-down excited for.

Miss Mayhem
by Rachel Hawkins

hitting shelves April 7, 2015
from Putnam Juvenile

description:
Life is almost back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors have been silent after their deadly attack at Cotillion months ago, and best friend Bee has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can return her focus to the important things in life: school, canoodling with David, her nemesis-turned-ward-slash-boyfie, and even competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant.

Unfortunately, supernatural chores are never done. The Ephors have decided they’d rather train David than kill him. The catch: Harper has to come along for the ride, but she can’t stay David’s Paladin unless she undergoes an ancient trial that will either kill her . . . or connect her to David for life.

My thoughts:  Nothing can keep me away from the continuing story of Harper, David, and Bee, the fun crew from Rebel Belle---not even this slightly silly cover. LOL Maybe it will grow on me. Rebel Belle was such a fun read, definitely one of my favorites this year and that ending was quite a cliffhanger, so I can't wait for this second installment.

  2. I haven't read "Rebel Belle", but it's definitely on my TBR list, since I'm enjoying the author's "Hex Hall" novels.
The cover to this one is really silly, though.

  6. oh wow that cover - LOL!! haha, well I like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. And that sounds best for this series if you say it was a fun read! I'll have to give it a go sometime (in addition to Rachel's other books!).

  8. I liked Rebel Belle but I miss her Hex Hall series. I was really hoping she'd continue Izzy's story because it felt like there was more to come after School Spirits.

I agree with you about the unfortunate cover and I don't know how much it would appeal to teens at my library.

  10. Very excited about this one! Loved Rebel Belle and can't wait to find out what happens next. Agree with you about the cover though, it's not the best, especially since Rebel Belle had a much nicer one. But hopefully we'll get used to it!
