Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It lets us all gush about what soon-to-be released books we are jumping-up-and-down excited for.

Miss Mayhem
by Rachel Hawkins

hitting shelves April 7, 2015
from Putnam Juvenile

Life is almost back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors have been silent after their deadly attack at Cotillion months ago, and best friend Bee has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can return her focus to the important things in life: school, canoodling with David, her nemesis-turned-ward-slash-boyfie, and even competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant.

Unfortunately, supernatural chores are never done. The Ephors have decided they’d rather train David than kill him. The catch: Harper has to come along for the ride, but she can’t stay David’s Paladin unless she undergoes an ancient trial that will either kill her . . . or connect her to David for life.

My thoughts:  Nothing can keep me away from the continuing story of Harper, David, and Bee, the fun crew from Rebel Belle---not even this slightly silly cover. LOL Maybe it will grow on me. Rebel Belle was such a fun read, definitely one of my favorites this year and that ending was quite a cliffhanger, so I can't wait for this second installment.

  1. My friend keeps pushing Rebel Belle on me!! I'm pushing it off until closer to this book's release date. I definitely want to see what all the fuss is about :D I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!!

    Have a fabulous day :)

    Check out my WoW post!

  2. I haven't read "Rebel Belle", but it's definitely on my TBR list, since I'm enjoying the author's "Hex Hall" novels.
The cover to this one is really silly, though.
    My WOW

  3. This sounds interesting. Maybe when my tbr won't be so huge I'll check this series out.

  4. LOL :D I like this cover, as it is different ;p but yess. A bit silly too :) I have yet to read book one.. but I'm excited about it. <3 and I will be getting this one too. Hoping it will be amazing :) Crossing my fingers you will love it. <3

  5. I still need to read Rebel Belle! Great choice!

    out my WOW

  6. I still need to check out Rebel Belle! I loved this author's other books, so I don't know why I haven't gotten to it yet.

    Great WOW :D

  7. Someone else mentioned this and it sounds really cute! I know its a sequel so perhaps I'll go back and check out Rebel Belle first. Thanks for sharing!

    My WoW.

  8. oh wow that cover - LOL!! haha, well I like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. And that sounds best for this series if you say it was a fun read! I'll have to give it a go sometime (in addition to Rachel's other books!).

  9. I still haven't read Rebel Belle yet. I hope you enjoy reading this one.
    My WoW

  10. I have Rebel Belle but I haven't read it. I'll be waiting for this too.

    Here's mine:
WOW: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

  11. I liked Rebel Belle but I miss her Hex Hall series. I was really hoping she'd continue Izzy's story because it felt like there was more to come after School Spirits.

I agree with you about the unfortunate cover and I don't know how much it would appeal to teens at my library.

  12. Ah, yes. I agree with you about the cover, lol! I have yet to read Rebl Belle, but I plan on reading it during my mini-vacay over the holiday season... I am really looking forward to finally knowing what everyone's but buzzing about :)

  13. Very excited about this one! Loved Rebel Belle and can't wait to find out what happens next. Agree with you about the cover though, it's not the best, especially since Rebel Belle had a much nicer one. But hopefully we'll get used to it!

  14. I don't know... There's something I kind of like about the cover! Maybe it's the colors? I'm not sure, but it appeals to me. :) I neeeeed to read Rebel Belle, like, now. :) Great pick Becky!
