New Shelf Goodies & The Weekly Nutshell {85}

For New Shelf Goodies, I'll be showing you what lovely books I acquired this week, whether from publishers, or the library, or from whatever half-crazed book-buying binge I happened to go on. :D (Inspired by Tynga's Stacking the Shelves) The Weekly Nutshell will be just week here at Stories & Sweeties, in a nutshell. (inspired by Ginger @ GReads and her recaps at the end of the TGIF posts)

Here's what's been sneaking into my mailbox lately!
For review:
This looks really cute and hopefully has a good message about body issues.
Love this author, so accepting this one was a given :)
This was my WoW a few weeks back...such a lovely cover and I love books about dreams/nightmares.
Looks just like Merida from Brave! :D
This says its a second and I don't think I've heard of the first book---I'll have to seek it out!
Witches, demons, and ancient battles. I'm hoping this one will be good!

Many thanks to Running Press Kids, Harlequin Mira, Scholastic, Random House, and Mink Publishing for these!

Hope everyone had a fabulous week.  I've been doing lots of family stuff lately so I've been crawling through my reading so slowly.  LOL Been beautiful weather outside though, so it'd be a shame not to enjoy it! Before I know it, it will be too hot and I will be hiding indoors again!  On a side note, I very nearly had a heart attack this weekend when my computer went down and when I restarted it, it was just a blank screen that said "Missing Operating System".  Yikes!! If you ever see this, try this before you panic: unplug anything you have hooked up to USB connections and restart again.  Luckily this time, that did the trick. But uuuuugh.

Here I go, back to the safety of my very non-electronic books, sweeties! :)
Oh and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!

  1. Ohh, it's scary when computers do weird things. Last week mine just wouldn't turn on. I FREAKED. But I took out the battery and put it back in and it fired up just fine. Gaaah. My computer is super old though...back everything up. That's all I can do. ;) Hehe. Looks like you've scored some awesome reads there! I'm loving that pear cover. ;)

  2. Ack! Glad your laptop didn't die for real :) That was lucky, hih. And agh. Jealous about nice weather. We have had a lot of wind and rain and snow these past days :p But glad you are having fun. <3 I haven't read any of these books, but they look great :) I hope you enjoy. <3 Happy reading :)

  3. I'm glad your computer issues were easy to resolve but I can identify with the panic. I got The Lost a couple of weeks ago too. Can't wait until it reaches the top of my review stack. Come see what I got at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

  4. Glad your laptop is still in working order, that would have been shocking had it broken! I see you're reading Burn Bright, how are you liking it, as good as the first or better/worse? Dream Boy looks and sounds fantastic, and I've heard some people are liking The Lost! Hope you enjoy those new books hunny! :D

  5. I can't wait to read Dream Boy :) You got some great books, I hope you enjoy them :)

  6. Ooh, so glad your laptop disaster wasn't such a disaster! That's so scary! How I Got Skinny, Famous, and Fell Madly in Love sounds cute, and I remember reading about Dream Boy on your WoW, which sounds awesome. :D Have a great week Becky!

  7. Whew on your laptop. That had to have been a heartstopping moment! I've sworn up and down that I will not complain about the heat after this horrible winter, but I know I won't succeed. Lol. That's awesome you got Dream Boy. I LOVE it when I get the books I feature in my WoWs. Lost sounds really awesome, too. Great haul! Hope your week is going well!
