The Weekly Nutshell:
{Sunday} Sweetness on Sunday featuring Tiger's Curse Recipe & Giveaway!
{Monday} Review: Silence by Michelle Sagara
{Tuesday} Waiting on Wednesday: The Dark Unwinding by Sharon Cameron

Well, another slow week for posts here! My daily life is taking over right now. With two kids having birthdays and one graduating, there's been some mad planning and cleaning going on here...I've been exhausted and reading soooo slowly. Still, I'm reading Book of Blood & Shadows and The Selection right now and enjoying both! I was so pooped out, I even passed up an awesome signing with Cynthia Hand, Bree Despain, and Brodi Ashton---crazy, I know,..but I just could not bring myself to take on San Francisco that night. Hopefully, after next week, things will slow down a bit and I can give this blog some much-needed make-up time! :D

Happy reading, everyone!

Thanks to Little, Brown for these! Very excited to read both!

New on my Nook:

I tried and I tried to resist this when I saw it pop up on Netgalley. I failed. The first book was just too good. I had to have this. :)

The Weekly Nutshell:
Monday: Guest Review: Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
Tuesday: What's New: May YA Releases & Giveaway!
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday: Splintered by A.G. Howard

It was definitely a quiet week here in Stories & Sweeties, and I apologize for that! It was a crazy, hectic week of prom preparation ( I had two of my kids going this year!), work, and a modem that decided to die on me---so I was without internet for most of the week. Even after we replaced it, my internet seems to be stuttering a bit. :( The week ended with a beautiful service for my grandma. Thank you to everyone for the words of comfort for me and my family last week. *hugs* In the week ahead I'll be catching up on lots of reading and reviewing!

Have a great week, everyone!

The books I got this week are having a party with the presents under the christmas tree! So excited about both of these, especially Pure since I was a huge fan of Half-Blood!
Here's what I got:

For Review:

SO...nothing to show in my actual mailbox---nothing for review this week, plus I was good girl and didn't buy any physical books :) I did however, go a little crazy with the ebooks this week. And so, we go straight to:

New On My Nook!
I've had such a run of good luck lately with self-pubbed and indie titles, so I went looking for a few more. I've been dying to get Ladybird, Ladybird---I was such a fan of Abra Ebner's Knight Angels! The other three, well...let's just say, the stories looked great, all got very high reviews and,... oh heck, you all know I bought them because they are gorgeous! :) Especially Black Wood---such a beautiful cover. If I love it, I'm going back for the print copy! There's a little of all the fun stuff in these four: ghosts, witches, fantastical realms, gypsies, curses, mermaids...and ladybugs? :)

Ladybird, Ladybird by Abra Ebner
Black Wood: A Witch Rising by Jayde Scott

Wanderlove by Belle Malory
Madly & Wolfhardt by M. Leighton

So what new goodies did you get this week??

For Review:
Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
YAY!!! That is all.

Exile by Jakob Ejersbo
This one came unsolicited, and I'm not sure it's going to be my cup of tea. From the description, I'd guess it's going to be a little too gritty and depressing for me. Though it did come all the way from the UK, so I'd like to make sure it gets a review---anyone in the US that's interested can contact me!

Bought:
The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
These books are so gorgeous! I think this was my favorite cover of the series. Now that I have them all, I'm going to read the series all the way through!

New on my Nook:

For review:
Become by Ali Cross
Ali contacted me after seeing this one on my WoW picks last week! Yay! Can't wait to read this! :D

Book of Blood and Shadow by Robin Wasserman
This one sounds amazing, so excited. Yup, I used the UK cover instead of the US---because it is way more gorgeous! lol If I end up loving this one, I'll be ordering from Book Depository just to get the cover I love!

And on audiobook:

Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I was thrilled this week to find out that Audible.com finally put out an Android app!! I think it's actually been out for awhile, but I'm just hearing about it now. So I immediately signed up and grabbed this one. It's read by the amazing Jim Dale. Listening to it just makes me miss one of my favorite cancelled-way-too-early shows, Pushing Daisies!

Many thanks to Little Brown Books, Random House, Quercus, and Ali Cross for the books to review!
