Shadow Scale Blog Tour Giveaway!

To celebrate tomorrow's release of Shadow Scale, the fantastic follow-up to Seraphina by Rachel Hartman, the wonderful folks at Random House are letting me give away two finished copies!!

About the book:
The kingdom of Goredd: a world where humans and dragons share life with an uneasy balance, and those few who are both human and dragon must hide the truth. Seraphina is one of these, part girl, part dragon, who is reluctantly drawn into the politics of her world. When war breaks out between the dragons and humans, she must travel the lands to find those like herself—for she has an inexplicable connection to all of them, and together they will be able to fight the dragons in powerful, magical ways.

As Seraphina gathers this motley crew, she is pursued by humans who want to stop her. But the most terrifying is another half dragon, who can creep into people’s minds and take them over. Until now, Seraphina has kept her mind safe from intruders, but that also means she’s held back her own gift. It is time to make a choice: Cling to the safety of her old life, or embrace a powerful new destiny?

Don't forget, there will be TWO winners!

  6. I enjoy how intellectual this series is. I remember that I had to look up at least one word every 5-ish pages while reading Seraphina, which was a weird experience to say the least, but it was also good in expanding my vocabulary!

  7. I didn't think I was a huge fan of dragons and then I read Seraphina! The writing is just so great. Everyone is well-developed and I really enjoy the pacing. It was methodical without being slow. Even if this is only half as good as Seraphina, it will still be an amazing book (but I think it will be even better!) Also, I want to read it because it has Kiggs. Kiggs is amazing.

  13. I've been obsessed with Seraphina ever since I read it. The dragons, saranntrai and quigutl of Goredd are so well-rendered.

  14. I love fantasy, but I feel like I read a lot of similar things. The dragon aspect of this series seems very original and is part of why I picked up Seraphina. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to read it, but I hope to soon.

  15. My favorite is the characters and the imagination behind the world building. There are a lot of stories with interesting ideas that fall flat, but the quality of the writing really makes the book stand out.

I love books with dragons in them, ever since I read My Father's Dragon when I was a little kid. I really liked Seraphina because it was "literary" and so well-written!

That's a good question, but I would say it's the dragons!
