About the book:
The kingdom of Goredd: a
world where humans and dragons share life with an uneasy balance, and
those few who are both human and dragon must hide the truth. Seraphina
is one of these, part girl, part dragon, who is reluctantly drawn into
the politics of her world. When war breaks out between the dragons and
humans, she must travel the lands to find those like herself—for she has
an inexplicable connection to all of them, and together they will be
able to fight the dragons in powerful, magical ways.
As Seraphina gathers this motley crew, she is pursued by humans who want to stop her. But the most terrifying is another half dragon, who can creep into people’s minds and take them over. Until now, Seraphina has kept her mind safe from intruders, but that also means she’s held back her own gift. It is time to make a choice: Cling to the safety of her old life, or embrace a powerful new destiny?

The fantasy and the dragons! I have yet to find a good book to come close to how good Seraphina is!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the dragons :) thanks for the awesome post and giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love fantasy books and dragons! I would love to read this. Thank you
ReplyDeleteThe dragons and the fantasy draw me the most. I would love to read this book. Thanks for having the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy how intellectual this series is. I remember that I had to look up at least one word every 5-ish pages while reading Seraphina, which was a weird experience to say the least, but it was also good in expanding my vocabulary!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I was a huge fan of dragons and then I read Seraphina! The writing is just so great. Everyone is well-developed and I really enjoy the pacing. It was methodical without being slow. Even if this is only half as good as Seraphina, it will still be an amazing book (but I think it will be even better!) Also, I want to read it because it has Kiggs. Kiggs is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI just loved the fantasy world - I thought the first book was fantastic so really can't wait to get my hands on this sequel!
ReplyDeleteLove dragons! Thanks for the giveaway, Becky!
ReplyDeleteYay! Amazing post Becky :D Thank you for sharing ;) Oh, how I loved this book. <3
ReplyDeleteThe fantasy and dragon aspect are what drew me to this series, I really enjoyed reading Seraphina and look forward to continuing with Shadow Scale. sarah s in rafflecopter
ReplyDelete"For future reference: do not underestimate the seductive power of math" -Seraphina (my favorite quote from the first book and part of why I love it so much)
ReplyDeleteI've been obsessed with Seraphina ever since I read it. The dragons, saranntrai and quigutl of Goredd are so well-rendered.
ReplyDeleteI love fantasy, but I feel like I read a lot of similar things. The dragon aspect of this series seems very original and is part of why I picked up Seraphina. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to read it, but I hope to soon.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the characters and the imagination behind the world building. There are a lot of stories with interesting ideas that fall flat, but the quality of the writing really makes the book stand out.
ReplyDeleteI love books with dragons in them, ever since I read My Father's Dragon when I was a little kid. I really liked Seraphina because it was "literary" and so well-written!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question, but I would say it's the dragons!
