New Shelf Goodies & The Weekly Nutshell {91}

For New Shelf Goodies, I'll be showing you what lovely books I acquired this week, whether from publishers, or the library, or from whatever half-crazed book-buying binge I happened to go on. :D (Inspired by Tynga's Stacking the Shelves) The Weekly Nutshell will be just that...my week here at Stories & Sweeties, in a nutshell. (inspired by Ginger @ GReads and her recaps at the end of the TGIF posts)

Here's what I got this week:

Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini
The Vault of Dreamers by Caragh M. O'brien
I could comment separately on each one, but really I'm so excited for every single one of these! I was oooing and aaahing like it was the 4th of July every time I opened a package. :D

And I have to show the packaging for Trial by Fire...once again, I'm in awe of Macmillan's marketing team. Lovely, lovely...

The Weekly Nutshell: 

 Well, gosh, I guess I sort of disappeared midweek! It's been too hot here to do much of anything but sit very still, read, and eat ice cream.  We went to the zoo for my son's birthday on Wednesday and I think my brain might have melted. Seriously, I don't do well in heat, and summer hasn't even started. Is it autumn yet??? :D

    Ha! I'm ready for the cold weather again too! If you can sit still outside and still be dripping sweat, it's too much right? That's how it is here. Gah.


    Ooh, what a great week too! I have copies of Trial by Fire and The Vault of Dreamers at my house, unopened, waiting for me, and it's killing me! Macmillan really does the best packaging for their books--smart of them, since everyone posts pictures of it! :D

    I've read the sneak peek for The cabinet of curiosities and thought it looked very promising. I love the cover :D The packaging from Trial by fire is great! Happy reading :)

    Ahh, how gorgeous is that packaging for Trial by Fire?! So pretty. Can't wait to read it either, the same with Evidence of thing Not Seen, really looking forward to that one! Happy reading! :)

    The packaging for Trial by Fire is so pretty! I love it. I'm really excited for the Vault of Dreamers as well, it sounds really good. And I know what you mean about the heat! It's been surprisingly hot here as well (well, hot for England) and I already feel like melting.
