I love books. And I love cupcakes. I spend alot of time reading blogs about both. Then I thought to myself, wouldn't it be fun to have it all in one? So here's the plan. Here on my little blog, you're going to find book reviews (mostly YA, because I'm absolutely addicted to them) and once in while I'll show you what I'm cooking up in my little vintage aprons, recipes and all. It's gonna be fun---visit often!! :)
To contact me regarding this blog or if you are a publisher/author with a book you'd like reviewed, send an email to:

I am currently accepting YA books for review, but I am not accepting ebooks.
Gwen Hayes, whose debut YA novel is one of the highest on my highly anticipated book releases of 2011, has just released a first chapter sneak peek of Falling Under on her site!!! If you are as excited as I am about reading this book, go check it out!! (I read it...and I'm already hooked and can't wait for more!)
This will be a new weekly feature here at Stories & Sweeties! For Recommend{2}Me, I'll feature an already-released book that I have my eye on, it's caught my interest for one reason or another, but before I spend my money or go through the trouble to track it down at the library, I want to hear from you!! Have you read it? What did you think? Love it? Hate it? Don't waste my hard-earned cash? Sure I can just check store sites for reviews but, you know what? I trust the word of my fellow book readers and bloggers more than anyone else!
Description: Neesha is afraid - haunted by the fragments of a nightmare about a girl falling, far away and a long time ago. Just when the echoes in her head threaten to overwhelm her, a boy unexpectedly comes to her rescue. Handsome and talented, Sammy finds himself strangely drawn to Neesha - but it's only when they come together, that they begin to realize why. Are they falling in love or being pulled into the past - fated to replay a love affair that ended in blood?
So what do you think? Have you read it and recommend it? Haven't read it but want to? Hated it and I should put down the credit card before it's too late?? :D Let me know what you think in the comments!
Would any bloggers out there like to do this feature with me?? If so, let me know and I'll make a button and set this up as a meme! :)
"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It lets us all gush about what soon-to-be released books we are jumping-up-and-down excited for.
Description from Goodreads: In her dreams he’s irresistible—seductive, charming, and undoubtedly dangerous. But when he appears to her when she’s awake—and captivates her just the same—she’s not sure which way is up and which is down.
Theia Alderson has always led a sheltered life, not allowed the same freedoms as the rest of the teenagers in the small California town of Serendipity Falls. But when a devastatingly handsome boy appears in the halls of her school, she feels every urge she’s ever denied burning through her at the slightest glance from Haden Black. Theia knows she’s seen Haden before—not around town, but in her dreams.
Theia doesn’t understand how she dreamed of Haden before they ever met, but every night has them joined in a haunting world of eerie fantasy. And as the Haden of both the night and the day beckons her forward one moment and pushes her away the next, the only thing Theia knows for sure is that the incredible pull she feels towards him is stronger than her fear. And as she slowly discovers what Haden truly is, Theia’s not sure if she wants to resist him, even if the cost is her soul.
My thought: This sounds amazing. Sort of a cross between Alice in Wonderland and the movie The Good Night. I know I'm torturing myself by pining for a book that is so far off in its release date, but I can't help it!! And that gorgeous cover?? *sign* Yup, I want it.
Check out the authors website here. Lots of cool stuff, and its just gorgeous to look it! :) And check out the trailer:
