A Most Dangerous Deception
by Sarah Zettel
hitting shelves November 5th from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
description:
A warning to all young ladies of delicate breeding who wish to embark upon lives of adventure: Don't.
Sixteen-year-old Peggy is a well-bred orphan who is coerced into posing
as a lady in waiting at the palace of King George I. Life is grand,
until Peggy starts to suspect that the girl she's impersonating might
have been murdered. Unless Peggy can discover the truth, she might be
doomed to the same terrible fate. But in a court of shadows and
intrigue, anyone could be a spy—perhaps even the handsome young artist
with whom Peggy is falling in love . . . History and mystery spark in
this effervescent series debut.
My thoughts: This looks fun!! History and mystery---always a good combo. :)

ReplyDeleteDang, this seriously sounds ah-mazing! I can't believe I haven't heard of it before. I love the combination of history and mystery, it's always so neat. The cover is also ridiculously gorgeous. <3 And that first part of the synopsis sounds so cool.

Ooh! This sounds good! It was not on my radar at all, but it is now! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCheck out MINE!
Hmmm, is this a debut? Part of a series? I have never seen it around! It does sound interesting - I love historical fiction. The cover is not doing it for me, though. Great choice!
ReplyDeleteHere is my WoW post!
This one is a first in a series called Palace of Spies, but it's not a debut. Sarah Zettel also has a YA series out called American Fairy. :)
DeleteI was just going to mention that she wrote Dust Girl which was really good and didn't get much online love!
DeleteOhh! I love the way this one sounds--definitely right up my alley. I love historical fiction, especially if there's some mystery to it. Thanks for sharing this one. I am definitely adding it to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a big fan of Dust Girl but I loved Sarah Zettel's Camelot books so I'll have to try this out :D
ReplyDeleteMy WOW
I've added this to my TBR list. I am glad to see more YA historical fiction published-though it doesn't get checked out as often as say dystopian fiction at my library...I love historical fiction and the suspense of a possible murder mystery makes me want to read it even more.
ReplyDeleteFun and the cover is too fab! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! I LOVE historical fiction of any kind so I am so glad I discovered this here! Sounds great!
